It becomes a matter of which compromises you are willing to live with. It is also a possibility that changing (increasing) tire pressure will improve feel.īottom line is that all season tires are a compromise one way or the other. The summer tires were not good at all last winter hence why I went with dws06 due to their good reviews in snow driving.Call tirerack and mention your concerns. Ya the Michelins sound like a tire that would fit my everyday driving until those winter months hit us in NJ I fear the Michelins won't be up to par in that field. I'm probably going to try and exchange my tires on tire rack if possible cause these dws06 really do make the car feel like a floating boat! You described it perfectly the cAr doesn't feel like it's connected to the road! So you will have similar tech and R&D as the Michelin's PSS, AS3+ etc.Man I think I should have listened to you.

Even better.ītw - BFGoodrich is made by Michelin, not Continental. WJN S4.so the BFG is made by Michelin instead of Conti. The reviews on the BFG are very impressive, but the extra weight and lower ratings for snow is a deal breaker for me in this part of the country.Įven though we have quattro, the extra margin of winter driving safety the DWS 06 provides compared to the BFG g force comp A/S is something to think about.Īlso, some owners of the DWS 06 have said that the sidewalls are dual ply and provide better turn in than the one ply DWS.īut the BFG may still have a better steering response to steering inputs.I personally don't know. If you will have only one set of rims and tires, the DWS 06 is a safer bet for winter driving. I have not ridden on the newer and current DWS 06. Have you had any issues with the so called softness of the sidewall?I rode on the DWS-not the DWS 06-in my Maxima through some harsh winters here in SE Pennsylvania. I'm leaning towards the dws but I am concerned with the softness of the tire which will hinder the handling. The only thing that concerns me is the road noise you mentioned with the bf's. So you will have similar tech and R&D as the Michelin's PSS, AS3+ etc.Great review! I have heard that the dws are soft which hinders handling. So you will have similar tech and R&D as the Michelin's PSS, AS3+ etc.ītw - BFGoodrich is made by Michelin, not Continental. Overall, you will not be disappointed, especially for the price point on the BFGoodrich - I am definitely happy with the performance and feel of it for being an All-Season tire.ītw - BFGoodrich is made by Michelin, not Continental. Gives off a bit of a droning noise on some surfaces - but I'm not sure if I'm just hyper sensitive right now due to the new tires and a whole new feeling to the car. My only downside I've found so far, but I'm not sure if it's isolated to an alignment, bearing, or road issue - is that they are sometimes loud. So I took a chance with the BFGoodrich, since I had a set before on my BMW and loved the handling. I've heard the DWS06 is an improvement, but I did a lot of reading on reviews and research, and feedback is still similar that it still feels weak on the sidewalls for turn in's. It's been raining a lot the past week, and the car feels really planted and plenty of confidence in the wet, even on windy roads. I couldn't believe how much of a negative difference the DWS tires had on the car.Ĭar really is so much better, much flatter, handling and braking are most notable differences. When I had the BFG installed - it's like the car became planted and connected with the road again. It is true the DWS makes the car feel like a floating boat. I had the 1st gen DWS, and just switched to the BFGoodrich gForce Comp-2 A/S 2 weeks ago, so like around 600 mi - just traveled up to Boston with them.īFGoodrich - so much better than the DWS in handling. I had the previous generation DWS (pre -06) tire and liked it a lot.īased on all this, and if you don't mind the extra cost, I'd go with the DWS 06.

One reviewer claimed that this BFG tire is made by Conti. Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI've been looking at my next set of tires and these two are on the short list.Īs you know, and based on Tirerack reviews, they both perform very well.īFG-less expensive but lower mileage warranty (45k), very aggressive looking tread, inferior light snow traction, big negative is that it's heavierĭWS 06-more expensive but has a 50k mileage warranty, more traditional tread design, better snow traction, DWS has long tradition as a great overall AS tire, lighter!

Any feedback from you guys who have either tire would be great. Anything but these noisy oem continental tires! Man as the miles went past 10k did these tires get noisy and the damn vibration! Anyway it's time for new tires and I'm looking for an all season tire.
